In recent years, trekking competition has become a trend of sports participation. However most of them only allow adult participation, and one's personal strength and mountaineering skills are measured as the paramount prove of capability. In addition to the weigh-downed appreciation of Hong Kong ecosystem's uniqueness, those "power-oriented" events have put off all under-aged and physically constrained nature enthusiasts.


Aim:

The aim of our NON-PROFIT MAKING competition "Green Touch - Family Ecotour" is to live up HKTraveler's belief - to promote the loving and protection awareness of our environment, to build up strong family relationships through companion travelling, learning and relishing of Hong Kong's diversified ecosystem in a series of 4 competitions.

Uniqueness:

  • 60 teams per competition day, each comprises of 3 to 4 members.
  • Each team should consist at least ONE adult member, and no more than two minors.
  • Each team can choose ANY OR MORE THAN 1 competition(s).
  • Each competition is 5 to 10 kilometers long and can be finished within 2 to 4 hours.
  • Each team needs to reach certain checkpoints and complete nature and theme-related quizzes.

Remarks: This non-profit making event aims to promote family traveling and is not of any fund-raising nature. However after deduction of all necessary costs, the Organizer will donate surplus to local charity(s) including Children's Heart Foundation.
