Rules of the race
1. All participants must register at the Registration Desk at the designated time, number bid will then be distributed. Participants must wear the bid at an eye-catching position and go to “Photo-taking Area” to take a photo as a record of the organizer.
2. All participants have to follow the racing route designated by the organizer. Regardless of the condition, participants have to race along the route and should not use shortcuts, otherwise, the qualification of those who violate this rule will be nullified.
3. All Challengers should arrive at the checkpoint of Luk Keng Wong Uk within 4 hours and the endpoint of Wu Kau Tang within 11 hours after the start of the marathon.
4. All Explorers should arrive at the checkpoint of Lai Chi Wo within ??? hours and the endpoint of Wu Kau Tang within ??? hours after the start of the marathon.
5. Due to safety reasons, if Challengers and Explorers are unable to arrive at the checkpoints of Luk Keng Wong Uk and Lai Chi Wo respectively at the designated time, the unfinished part will be cancelled.
6. If number bid is lost before the start, HK$20 administration fee is required for replacement.
7. If number bid is lost during the marathon, qualification of participant will be nullified.
8. Participants must not littering and destroy public goods during the marathon, the qualification and prize of those who violate this rule will be nullified.

Flow of the race
> Registration
1. To register at the Registration Desk at the designated time, participants must show their identity cards for verification.
2. To stick the number bid at an eye-catching position and go to “Photo-taking Area” to take a photo as a record of the organizer.
3. Backpack consignment (if necessary).
4. Please wait for start at the designated point.
> Arriving checkpoint
To show your number bid and allowing working staff to stamp on it.
> Arriving endpoint
1. To report to the Arrival Desk as soon as possible
2. To wait for the announcement of result by the organizer

Arrangement for bad weather / emergency
> Before registration
If Hong Kong Observatory hoists typhoon signal no. 3 or above, red or black rainstorm, or thunderstorm warning before 6:00am on 1st January 2008 or during the marathon, or any unpredictable reason that causes the marathon unable to carry on, the organizer has the right to cancel / stop the marathon.
> During the race

If facing bad weather during the marathon, participants should go to a safe place as soon as possible, then inform the organizer your location and wait for instruction or arrangement from the organizer patiently.

Participants should take note to weather report from radio or TV broadcast, visit the website or call at the hotline of the organizer to ask for the arrangement regarding bad weather.


Code of Safety
1. Insurance
The organizer has already purchased HK$2,000 Accidental Medical Insurance and HK$10,000 Death Insurance. However, participants are still recommended to purchase related insurances by themselves.
2. Quit in the midway
If participants have to quit in the midway, they must first go to inform the working staff of the nearest checkpoint.
3. Injury during the race
In any situation, one must not leave any team member alone (if applicable). If a team member is injured or exhausted, other team member must deliver the injured to the nearest checkpoint to ask for help.
If a participant is seriously injured or unable to walk, one should call the emergency number of the organizer: 6740 9734, clearly indicate the location, and wait for rescuers to come.
For ease of rescue, each participant is highly recommended to carry a mobile phone with ample battery. During request for rescue, please clearly indicate your racing number, location, state of injury and contact number of the participant concerned, to make sure that the organizer can carry out rescue as soon as possible.

Preparation before the race
1. The organizer highly recommends participants to start exercising 2 months before the marathon, so as to obtain the best result.
2. A short jogging everyday can strengthen fitness and endurance.
3. Sufficient sleep
4. Be careful on daily intake
5. Trimming nails of toes 1 week before the race, so as to minimize the chance of injury when going downhill.

Participants must follow the codes below
1. All participants must be aged over 18, except for Family Team of Explorer (1 member must aged between 8-17).
2. Participants have to submit their application forms, donation and declaration on or before 30th November 2006 by mail (according to the mail stamp) or on web to HKTraveler.com, otherwise, your application will not be processed.
3. If you would like to quit after applied, you should send a letter to the organizer on or before 15th November 2007, so that the organizer can fill up the vacancy. The application fee and charity donation will not be refunded.
4. Confirmation email for participation will be sent after the organizer received all the necessary document, including application form, payment proof of application fee and original copy of declaration. If participants can not receive the confirmation email on or before 11th December, 2007, please call enquiry hotline or email to ne@hktraveler.com.
5. In no circumstance will refund application fee and charity donation.
6. A separate email will be issued for the detail of Briefing.
7. All participants must follow and finish the designated route fixed by the organizer, so as to reward according to relevant ranking. The organizer will handle complaints and prosecution in utmost fairness and openness within her ability. She also possesses the power of final decision on the result of the whole marathon, including prizes and rankings.
